In our meeting we discussed how our instruments could be extended and alter with electronics. I feel like this has particular potential because all three of us play woodwind instruments

I after doing some more research on Paul Hanson ("the" electric bassoonist) I found this track with Bela Fleck. It features solos for electric bassoon and electric saxophone.

I also took this opportunity to check out some music of one of my teachers, Mark Kirschennmann. He does a ton of stuff with electronics on his trumpet. I'd love to talk with him more about his techniques for extending his trumpet

I was also inspired by the fat sounds in this video. He's using an effects pedal which is cool, but I'm curious to see how we could extend our instruments with DAWs

  1. You might be interested in Matthew Burtner's Metasax: http://matthewburtner.com/metasax/
It incorporates amplification, effects, as well as sensors. There was a version that had embedded microphones and loudspeakers to create feedback effects, but I think I was the only person who liked it, so I think he stopped developing it.
