Dieter Schnebel - Music to Read

http://light-art-2008.blogspot.com/2008/03/dieter-schnebel.html

Dieter Schnebel creates melodies that are meant to be read rather than played. They are virtual melodies in that the reader is supposed to come up with the melody in his head. These melodies are drawn as graphic scores.

  3. Amanda Schoofs is only an acquaintance of mine, but some of my very good friends (including UM bass grad student Ben Willis) know her well and have worked with her.

She has done some nice stuff with graphic scores, utilizing a (to my eyes) stronger and more "painterly" visual aesthetic than is typical.
