Welcome to the Electronic Chamber Music Fall 2018! This course is about interdisciplinary artistic collaboration involving technology. We will spend the semester developing performances that will culminate in a public concert on December 11 at the University of Michigan Museum of Art.
The performances will respond to the UMMA Exhibition Proof: The Ryoichi Excavations. This exhibition features photographs by Patrick Nagatani, that document the legacy of the fictional Japanese archaeologist Ryoichi. According to the photographs, Ryoichi discovered evidence of an automobile culture buried at sites across several continents: Stonehenge, the Grand Canyon, and a necropolis in China.
