Blog Week 1

The majority of what I have made so far is fixed media. This is one closer to the noisy side:

This was done with a single patch of Operator and some effects, in real time.

BINKBEATS is one of the first artists I discovered who does electro-acoustic music live, and this video is still one of my favorite live renditions of, well, anything:

My favorite part about this is how sparse and open the arrangement is- he really lets each individual sound shine and finds the right context for everything.

  1. I like your noise piece. Curious if the "and mouse" was just clicking and controlling of params, or if you had gestural input too?

  2. The way your mouse piece is structured is really cool, as throughout the piece you build up more and more by controlling more parameters. I would love to see you perform a version of it live! The BINKBEATS piece is so satisfying to listen to, probably due to the open arrangement like you said, every sound has a place to shine.

  3. I like the idea of exploring all the possibilities of sound from a single source. Very cool, thanks for sharing!

  4. Curious about your process when improvising. Did you have a rough idea of the shape or idea you wanted to convey from the outset on this piece, or did it evolve entirely in the moment? Very cool stuff.
